The Service

National Mail-In Repair — Built Exclusively for Effects Pedals

Whether it's a vintage fuzz, a modern reverb, or a boutique overdrive — if it makes your guitar sound different, we repair it. Guitar, bass, and synth effects pedals. Any brand, any age.

We built Pedal Clinic because local repair is nearly impossible to find, and mailing a pedal used to mean digging up a box, calling around, and waiting weeks for a quote. We cut all of that out.

$80 FLAT

Standard stomps and mid-size pedals: $80 — diagnosis, labor, parts, return shipping. Large or multi-effects units are quoted on intake. No diagnostic fee, no parts markup, no surprise invoice.

NO BOX NEEDED

Drop your pedal at any UPS or Staples location. We send you a prepaid label. It ships like an Amazon return — no packing materials required.

Why Pedal Clinic

Built for Gear,
Not Excuses

One flat price. Always.

Repair quotes elsewhere can run $40 just to look at a pedal. We charge $80 for standard stomps — diagnosis, parts, labor, return shipping. Large units are quoted on intake. Either way, you know the price before any work begins.

Mail from any US address

Live in a rural area with no local tech? Ship from Alaska, Hawaii, or anywhere in between. We repair pedals from all 50 states.

Bench-grade diagnostics

Your pedal is repaired by trained electronics technicians — not a general handyman. We use calibrated test equipment to confirm proper function before it ships back.

No fix, no charge

If we can't repair your pedal, you pay nothing. We'll return it to you at our expense and tell you exactly what we found.

Common Questions

FAQ

What types of pedals do you repair?

We repair guitar, bass, and synth effects pedals of all types — fuzz, overdrive, distortion, reverb, delay, chorus, phaser, wah, looper, multi-effects, and more. Any brand, any era.

Really no box required?

Correct. Bring your bare pedal to a UPS Store or Staples location. They handle all the packaging. You just need the prepaid label we send you — print it or show it on your phone.

How does pricing work?

Standard stomps and mid-size pedals: $80 flat — diagnosis, labor, standard parts, and insured return shipping included. Large or multi-effects units (think Boss RC-600, line mixers, rack-mount effects): quoted on intake, typically $120–150 depending on size and complexity. We always confirm the price with you before any work begins.

How do I know which tier my pedal falls into?

When you submit your pedal, our intake form asks for the make and model. If it qualifies as a large unit, we'll tell you before you pay anything. Standard stomps — the vast majority of pedals — are always $80.

How long does repair take?

Most repairs are completed within 5–7 business days of receiving your pedal. Complex repairs may take longer. We'll keep you updated via email.

What if my pedal can't be repaired economically?

You pay nothing for the repair — ever. At intake, you choose what happens if we can't fix it: (1) Return it — we ship it back for a $15 flat return fee, or (2) Responsible disposal — we recycle or part it out at no charge to you, and you pay nothing at all. Either way, we send a full written diagnosis of what we found.

Why do you charge $15 for returns on unrepairable pedals?

When a repair goes through, return shipping is included in your fee. On an uneconomical repair where no work is done, there's no fee to cover that cost — the $15 option lets us offer honest return shipping rather than absorbing it across all customers. Disposal is always free if you'd rather not pay.

Do you offer a warranty on repairs?

Yes. All repairs carry a 90-day warranty on parts and workmanship. If the same issue recurs within 90 days, we fix it at no charge.

Do you service pedals still under manufacturer warranty?

We can, but opening a pedal under warranty may void the manufacturer's coverage. We recommend checking your warranty status first. If you'd like to proceed, we'll note it for the record.
